Tim Dyde is a partner and head of the medical negligence team and conducts all types of medical negligence cases. He specialises in claims for children, including cerebral palsy, Erb's palsy, misdiagnosis of cancer, fatal accident claims and psychiatric injury cases. He also advises on the duties of local authorities in relation to statements of special educational needs for children and young people, as well as their duties to provide care and assistance both within clients' own homes and in local authority accommodation.
In addition to being a solicitor, Tim is a fully-qualified Registered General Nurse, having years of experience in major London teaching hospitals, which has given him a valuable insight into medical negligence cases.
Tim has built up one of the region's most successful medical negligence teams and the firm now acts for clients in the South-West and nationally. He is also a member of the specialist Law Society's Clinical Negligence Panel and the firm is a member of AvMA, a charity which has a key role in championing patients' interests.
Tim is recognised as a leader in his field by Chambers UK 2013 who say the following: "Peers "have a lot of time for" and "would refer to" head of department Tim Dyde, who is lauded as "exceptional" by one client, "particularly for his patient and understanding manner, and also his knowledge of, and choice of, counsel." Children's claims are his specialism, and these include fatal accident claims, cancer misdiagnosis, cerebral palsy and Erb's palsy."
The Legal 500 2012 comments as follows: "Tim Dyde's team at Tozers LLP has experience in advising Erb's Palsy sufferers, and is developing a niche in prison-related clinical negligence."
