Charities and schools

We have a very long association with charities of all kinds: religious, educational, health/disability and community.  We also act for many independent schools, former grant maintained schools and voluntary aided schools, as well as giving advice to parents on issues such as bullying, admissions and exclusions and special educational needs.

Our staff include members of the Charity Law Association (CLA), the Education Law Association (ELAS), the Conference of Solicitors for Catholic Charities and a number of other organisations.  Richard King and Vernon Clarke are recognised leaders in the charities field, and several others have practical, hands-on experience as governors or trustees of a wide variety of schools and other charities.  We work closely with agencies such as the Charity Commission and the DfES and other bodies involved in the sector.

In every case we try at the outset to give our clients a general appraisal of the issues they need to address, outline the best strategy for dealing with them and what expenditure they are likely to incur.
