BusinessWise is Tozers' business club and the purpose of the club is to provide a forum to discuss specific commercial topics of common interest. Meetings of the club are to be held quarterly at the Jurys Inn, Exeter and will feature several short talks by our staff, each with a commercial theme. The talks together last no more than an hour and are followed by a buffet lunch. Mike Clark of Francis Clark who attended our inaugural meeting on 11 June 2010 said of the talks given by Jill Headford, partner, and Rachel Rowles Davis, planning solicitor, both of Tozers LLP that they provided: " A very useful and clear exposition of complex issues." Furthermore, Tony Stevens of Handelsbanken who attended on 24 September 2010, where Matthew Jackson, commercial partner at Tozers solicitors and Amy Newcombe, trainee solicitor, gave separate talks to around 50 attendees (on the Companies Act 2006 and the Bribery Act 2010 respectively), said that the Tozers' business club meeting was a "good opportunity to learn and network."
The talks are followed by a networking lunch. Attendance is free of charge but places are limited and are allocated on a 'first come, first served' basis. These meetings provide a useful opportunity for members to learn more about particular legal subjects and to meet us and our other guests.
