A client who wholesales gifts and novelties etc to retailers through a network of sales representatives was horrified to face a compensation claim from a former commercial agent.
The claim was for over £250,000 under the Commercial Agents Regulations 1993. We were able to rely on the House of Lords decision in the Lonsdale case to settle the claim for just £12,000.For more on commercial agencies contact Jill Headford.
