Challenge to will successfully resisted

Acting for a large number of charities, we are often called upon to defend claims by family members and friends who object to their loved one's choice of beneficiary.

Our most recent case involved a gift of several £100,000s to a religious order. The disappointed relatives attempted to get the gift set aside but after much negotiation and conferring with the Charity Commission the accepted a settlement of £30,000. The charity were relieved to be able to retain most of the generous gift the deceased had intended for them.
