Tozers LLP, a Devon law firm with offices in Exeter, Teignmouth, Plymouth and Newton Abbot, has become a Legal Disciplinary Practice (LDP) in its 225th year since foundation in 1785. This move has enabled Tozers to promote Ted Foulkes who is a fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and has been employed by Tozers for 32 years to partnership.
Ted is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and also of the national association 'Solicitors for the Elderly' (SFE). He specialises in Wills, trusts, complex estate administration and Inheritance Tax planning.
Vernon Clarke, Head of private client at Tozers, comments: "Tozers likes to be at the forefront of business innovation and having become a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) in 2007 it seemed a natural progression to take advantage of the new business structure offered by becoming a Legal Disciplinary Practice, which means that now up to 25% of its partners can be non-lawyers. I am delighted that we have been able to appoint Ted as a partner to recognise and reward his outstanding and longstanding contribution as a senior lawyer with the firm and I am pleased formally to welcome Ted as a fellow partner."
The appointment of Ted Foulkes as a partner to Tozers LLP brings the partnership total to 22.
