Foreign nurses put patients at risk by cheating on English tests

Tim Dyde, partner and head of the clinical negligence team at Tozers LLP comments on this article in the Daily Telegraph :

"Nurses from the EU and elsewhere have contributed a lot to the NHS over the last decade but I find this news very concerning. I know that effective communication between patient and nurse is vital to providing a good standard of care; equally patients entering hospital should not have to worry about whether nurses have adequate qualifications and training. Whilst free movement of people is, in general terms, very positive, we need to make sure that an effective balance is maintained between this and patients’ best interests."
