On Saturday 25 September 2010 at Roadford Lake Watersports Centre, near Okehampton, four lawyers from Devon law firm, Tozers LLP, donned their wetsuits and joined 400 other participants to swim a mile in open water for Hospiscare.

As well as paying for the four members of its staff to take part in the sponsored swim, Tozers was also a corporate sponsor of the event at Roadford Lake and, together with the sponsorship raised by the swimmers from Tozers, Hospiscare will be receiving in the region of £750.
Vernon Clarke, partner and Head of private client at Tozers, comments: " I am delighted that Tozers was able to support Hospiscare in this event. I am very proud of all our swimmers and particularly Rebecca Wyld who swam her mile in 25 minutes and finished first out of the batch of 80 swimmers who started at the same time as her."

In fact, Rebecca, who is a paralegal in the medical negligence department of Tozers solicitors, was the fifth fastest female in the race and numbered in the top 25 swimmers. Trainee solicitors, Guy Cartwright and Simon Mansfield, from Tozers' private client department also put in great performances by completing the one mile swim in less than half an hour. Not only did Natalie Bett, a trainee solicitor from the litigation department in Tozers, finish the swim only a few minutes behind the other lawyers, but she managed to remove her wetsuit half way round and complete the swim in her swimming costume!
