The British Homes & Holiday Parks Association (BH&HPA) annual conference took place at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth on 16 and 17 February 2011. A comprehensive programme of business and social events was organised including speakers from across the public and private sectors. Minister for Tourism, John Penrose MP, addressed delegates on the Government's tourism strategy.
Tozers LLP is always very actively involved in the BH&HPA conference, since the firm represents the BH&HPA and runs a national legal helpline for all the BH&HPA members. Not only did Tozers have a stand at the conference, but Tony Beard, Kirstie Apps, Jenny Renshaw, Paul Kelly and Simon Sanger-Anderson all provided workshops:
Tony Beard and Jenny Renshaw – Mobile Homes Act 1983: back to basics, avoiding the pitfalls
Tony Beard and Kirstie Apps – Residential parks: recent case law, letting and the Equality Act
Kirstie Apps - The Purchase and Licence Agreement: what they say, why you need them
Paul Kelly and Simon Sanger-Anderson – Employment: impact of the new equality law on your business practice
Jenny Renshaw devised a tricky quiz for park owners and pictured below is Clive Anderson presenting Catherine Look of Oaktree Parks (Weston-Super-Mare) with the delicious Tozers' quiz prize: a 65 piece box of chocolates from Hotel Chocolat called The Chocolatier's Table which gave her a taste of every type of chocolate! Clive Anderson was the keynote speaker at the conference in his capacity as president of the Woodland Trust. He was appointed as president of the Woodland Trust in 2004 and has done an enormous amount to increase awareness of the Trust and its activities. Clive Anderson is, of course, also a broadcaster, writer and barrister.
