Do you operate a retirement age or "over 50s or over 60s only" rule on your mobile home park? Do you refuse to allow younger people onto your park and have you been accused of age discrimination? Some people have a particular wish to live amongst people of a similar age and the government recognises this and is expected to bring in law to help park owners continue to lawfully provide a community for older people. But there will be strict rules that park owners should follow – many of which you probably follow already – to make sure that residents and their buyers are aware of the age limit on the park. If you didn't follow those rules, you could end up falling foul of the Equality Act 2010 and the result could be that you face prosecution or be forced to allow younger people live on the park.
For help with the rules and making sure your park is ready to comply with them, please contact the Parks team at Tozers on 01392 207020 or by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
