This dreary and cold weather means that if you own a holiday park the chances are that bookings are picking up as customers start to think longingly about the spring and summer.
Now is a good time to make sure that your booking procedures are in good order, so that if the summer doesn't deliver the weather we all hope for and if customers decide to cancel at the last minute your policy on refunds and deposits can kick in to help you to keep your losses at a minimum. It is surprising how many contracts are not binding on the parties and how often park owners lose out as a result.
Getting the paperwork right isn't the only consideration. The timing and manner of giving the paperwork or entering into the agreement is crucial – it is a well established principle of contract law (and ultimately agreements for holidays are contractual) that parties are only bound by terms of which they were aware before they formed the agreement.
We can help you get the paperwork right, and get your procedures in place so that the risks of losses later in the season are reduced. Your industry is often weather dependent and there isn't much you can do about that, but you can reduce some of the uncertainty in terms of cashflow that can arise as a result by making sure that you have good documents and procedures ready in the first place.
