Anobium wins the Tozers Solicitors Open Maiden race at the South Devon Hunt Ideford Arch Point to Point

Over 50 guests joined lawyers from Tozers for hospitality in their marquee and watched the 7 year old bay gelding, Anobium, owned by Peter and Lisa Hall from South Pembrokeshire, win the two and a half miles Open Maiden race. Vernon Clarke (head of Tozers' Agriculture and Landed Estates team) and Anneli Jones (solicitor in the same team) presented Jodie Hughes, the winning jockey, with her prize. Jodie is the fiancée of Anobium's trainer, Paul Tolman, who runs a yard at Saundersfoot near Tenby. Jodie got up at 2am on Sunday to plait Anobium's mane and transport him from Wales to Devon for the Point to Point.

Anneli Jones, a keen horsewoman herself, was delighted to present Jodie – one of the strongest lady jockeys riding today - with her 40th win of her career and she comments: "I was very pleased to present the award to Jodie after a brilliantly timed run, which gave one of the most exciting finishes of the day. As someone who has long followed the Welsh point to point scene and given Anobium's illustrious blood lines, it came as no surprise that they should put in such a good performance."
