Fire prevention is better than cure

This summer the reports of fires on mobile home and holiday parks in Llangollen, Ross on Wye, West Drayton, Redhill in Nottingham, and St Leonards (to name only a few) should make park owners think carefully about the safety of the holiday caravans that they let to customers.

Fire risk on caravan sites is a well-known problem – all those units so close to each other – and site licensing reforms and enforcement has gone some way towards reducing the spread of fire.  But that’s not the only consideration for holiday park owners – compliance with safety requirements is vital and of course, so is insurance if the worst should happen. read more

Residential property tribunals – experience so far…

They’re coming in thick and fast! From applications made by residents against park owners for supposedly “blocking” a sale, to park owners wanting determination of a recent pitch fee review – they are flooding in. The industry and its residents are clearly taking advantage of the quicker and cheaper way of resolving disputes.
