Family wealth protection trusts

Many parents want to pass wealth to their children but are worried about transferring assets to them outright.  A Trust can offer a half-way house allowing your children to benefit from your wealth but not giving them outright control over the assets.

Family wealth protection trusts can be established under your Will or as part of you ongoing lifetime tax planning

Families develop and change over time and a well-drafted Trust can ensure that your family can adapt to these changes.  A well-drafted Trust can help:

  • protect assets in the event of matrimonial disputes
  • shield assets from potential creditors
  • put money aside for the grandchildren’s education
  • protect assets from the means test for benefits or nursing home fees.

Establishing a Trust now can also help to secure certain generous tax reliefs and allowances which may be restricted or abolished in the future.

Once your trust has been established our dedicated trust officers can offer a comprehensive trust administration service should you prefer not to undertake the necessary paperwork on your own.
