Underage Gambling – Test purchasing

The Gambling Commission has confirmed it intends to continue its Test Purchasing programme in 2016.

Test purchasing involves the use of volunteers under the age of 18 attempting to gamble, and the policy states that the tests will allow operators sufficient opportunity to demonstrate compliance with legislation. This means that operators will be given the chance to identify and challenge the test purchasers.

The testing programme has resulted in changes being made by the Local Authority to Operators’ licences, to include conditions such as mandatory test purchasing and extra training for staff.

If you have an arcade or other gambling facility on your park it is important that you ensure age restrictions are complied with.
