What you’ll be doing

Working with the Head of Business Development (HBD), you will be an integral part of our Business Development (BD) team, working alongside our marketing and client services teams.

You will provide support with client development and new business initiatives including ‘target’ research, data analysis, analytics, account planning preparation/administration and follow-up.

You will also assist with implementing our business development strategies for our specialist sectors and service lines and supporting the management of the associated budget.


What we’re looking for

You will be an excellent communicator with great written and oral skills as you will be helping our lawyers to create opportunities to develop profitable and long-term relationships with referrers, existing clients, and prospects. Supporting in the development of marketing collateral and content for directories, award submissions, website and client communications will also be part of your role.

You will have a collaborative approach and be comfortable with be assisting with pitches, presentations, and capability statements.  In addition, you will also be a great team player as you will be assisting with the development, targeting and management of campaigns as well as helping to develop PR opportunities and profile-raising initiatives in tandem with a colleague.

It is essential that you have the ability to juggle competing priorities and work independently under tight deadlines together with a commercial and professional approach to work. 

You will use your experience and intuition in solving problems and will be robust and confident suggesting alternative approaches to business challenges.  Self-motivation, a pro-active, innovative approach in working towards goals with enthusiasm and commitment are also qualities needed for this role.

You will also be comfortable with travelling between our offices when necessary.


What you’ll have

You will be an experienced business development professional, ideally with a professional services track record.  You may have a degree (or equivalent) and/or 3-5 years of marketing and/or BD experience as well as proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

It is desirable that you have demonstrable project management skills and essential that you are well organised, with good attention to detail and can show good analytical skills.
