Consumer Rights Act 2015 – are your contractual terms fair?
The implementation of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (“the Act”) is fast approaching with less than a month before its provision are brought into force on 1 October 2015.
Park owners of both holiday and residential parks will be affected by the Act’s provisions, particularly when involved in the sale of goods and/or services.
One of the Act’s reforms is the replacement of the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999 with updated provisions. These provisions will continue to require all park owners to ensure that the terms of their contract are fair. To assist park owners in the understanding of these provisions, the Competition and Markets Authority have produced a guidance document.
