Consumer Rights Act 2015
The Consumer Rights Bill received royal assent on 26 March 2015 to become the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (“the Act”). The Act’s provisions are intended to come into force on 1 October 2015.
From 1 October 2015 various areas of consumer law will be reformed and consolidated under the Act’s provisions which include:
- A consumer’s rights and remedies as regards defective goods;
- Unfair terms in consumer contracts; and
- An enforcer’s range of remedies and measures that can be imposed where a business breaches consumer law.
Park owners will need to ensure they are aware of the Act’s provisions in time for the implementation date. We will be providing further details on the Act in our exclusive newsletter for Parklaw subscribers.
