Consumer Rights Bill

A final draft of the Consumer Rights Bill has been agreed by the House of Commons and House of Lords and is set to receive Royal Assent by the end of this month.

The Bill is set to come into force in October 2015 and will bring current consumer law into a single code whilst also introducing additional protection for the consumer.

There are many provisions in the Bill which will impact park businesses, for example the Bill will reform a consumer’s right to reject any goods which are not of satisfactory quality. It is important that Park Owners become familiar with the new provisions in time for the implementation date of 1 October 2015.

The Department for Business Innovation & Skills has previously expressed that they plan to issue guidance for businesses in April 2015.
