Delays to 20% planning fee increase

In April the Department for Communities and Local Government confirmed that councils in England would be able to increase their planning fees by 20% from July.
It is now the end of July and the fees have not risen. This is because in order to implement the fee increase it is necessary for regulations to be laid before Parliament.
As Parliament is in recess for the summer it means that the earliest that regulations can be considered by Parliament is September. Planning fees will therefore remain the same until later in the year.
