Enforcement Notice Requiring the Removal of Agricultural Workers’ Caravan Accommodation

Holiday park

The courts have recently upheld an enforcement notice requiring the removal of agricultural workers’ caravan accommodation because they were not employed in the locality. In principle planning policy does allow rural workers accommodation where there is an essential need to live near a place of work. This case failed as many do because they could not demonstrate that essential need and the site’s location in a national park meant that there would be no exceptions.
