Gold sponsors Tozers Solicitors LLP attend the Exe Regatta 2016
Tozers Solicitors LLP were gold sponsors of the Exe Regatta which took place over the weekend of 16 and 17 July 2016. The firm has offices in Teignmouth, Newton Abbot and Exeter. Graham Bond who is a retired Chairman of Tozers who trained with Tozers and spent his whole working life (43 years) with the firm, sailed over from Teignmouth to Exmouth then Lympstone in his motor cruiser, Junket, on Sunday 17 July picking up colleagues on his way so that they could see the racing in the River Exe.
On Saturday 16 July, a number of lawyers from Tozers boarded a rib at Exmouth Marina and were taken to have lunch on the commodore of Exe Sailing Club’s yacht. After lunch they were treated to a short sail out at sea on the yacht and then taken by rib to see the start of the dinghy races in the River Exe off Starcross and Lympstone. The Exe Regatta is put on by Topsham, Lympstone, Starcross and Exe sailing clubs and this year it was the turn of Lympstone to host the Regatta.
Following the races on Saturday, there was a BBQ by Greendale Farm in the boat park next to Lympstone’s Sailing Clubhouse, a marquee with a bar by Hanlons Brewery and then dancing to the Carnaby Street band until around midnight. After the sailing on Sunday, there was a buffet of pasties and cakes and a prize-giving ceremony. Tracy Lambert, head of family at Tozers, spoke about Tozers’ gold sponsorship of the Exe Regatta and gave out Exe Regatta polo shirts to the winning sailors who also received commemorative glass trophies from Exe Sails and Covers Ltd.
Tracy Lambert comments: “It was evident this weekend how well the four sailing clubs of the River Exe had come together through voluntary work to put on a superb weekend of sailing and socialising. As sponsors, our thanks must go to Judith Carter (Commodore of Lympstone Sailing Club) and Lesley Anderson, as well as other members of the Exe Regatta Committee, for all their hard work throughout this year in coordinating Tozers involvement in the Regatta. We are also very appreciative of all the hospitality we were shown by both Exe and Lympstone Sailing clubs and my colleagues particularly enjoyed their sailing experiences. It is fantastic to see all age ranges competing in the Regatta from primary aged children to those of retirement age and my firm is delighted to have supported this community event.”
