Lifelong care needed for mother who suffered massive haemorrhage during childbirth

Tozers’ partner Stuart Bramley writes on the tragic story of mother who suffered haemorrhage during childbirth:

“I was delighted to read about Lucy’s success although any compensation payment, however necessary to allow her to live a semblance of normal life, cannot mask the devastating injuries she suffered on what should have been one of the happiest days of her life.  Haemorrhages before and during childbirth are far from rare and the early signs should always be taken seriously – the experience of too many of my own clients illustrates that this does not always happen.

Lucy’s story also shines a light on why the public need a system where injured patients who have suffered from medical mistakes can seek legal redress. After constant Press clichés about ‘ambulance-chasing lawyers’ it is refreshing to read a story which shows how, without a legal team fighting for her rights, Lucy would have been left in a much worse position. I do wish her the very best for her future”.
