Mobile Homes (Wales) Act 2013

On 1 October 2014 the Mobile Homes (Wales) Act 2013 (“the Act”) will come into force for all residential parks in Wales.

The Act will introduce significant changes to the selling and gifting procedure, the review of pitch fees and the site licensing regime.

In respect of reviewing the pitch fee, parks owners of Welsh mobile home parks will be required to use the pitch fee review form prescribed by the Welsh Assembly and base any increase/decrease of the pitch fee on the Consumer Prices Index. Any park owners who failed to follow this new procedure would be deemed to have carried out an invalid review.

It is important that owners of Welsh mobile home parks ensure they are familiar with the changes introduced by the Act as they will be required to comply with its provisions from 1 October 2014. Any failure to comply with the new provisions could have significant consequences for the park owner.

Tozers will be supporting the BH&HPA members workshop on 22 September and look forward to meeting Welsh park owners there.
