Mother speaks out after son’s tragic death from Group B Strep

A woman who gave birth to twins tragically only came home with one child after the other child contracted Group B Streptococcus (GBS). With reference to this Daily Mail article, infection specialist Stuart Bramley comments:

“This is yet another tragic story of soon-to-be mothers not being informed about GBS. It highlights the importance of charities like Group B Strep Support (GBSS) who work tirelessly to raise awareness of the condition so that it doesn’t come to this. There is hope in the fact that a new trial is underway aiming to prevent GBS in babies. My thoughts are with the family as they go through this horrific time”.
