Richard is the chairman of the firm, though he has retired from the partnership and now works part-time as a consultant.
He specialises in a broad range of charity law including formation, mergers and collaborations, compliance issues, fundraising, legacies, property, tax and Charity Commission investigations. He was until recently a trustee of the national charity Catholic Trust for England & Wales, Chairman of the Conference of Solicitors for Catholic Charities and governor of an independent school.
Member of the Charity Law Association and of the professional body, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Richard has been ranked as a notable practitioner for Charities in the Chambers UK 2017 legal directory, in which they say:

Richard qualified as a solicitor in 1979 and became a partner in 1983.
