Paul Zaleski’s Marathon Training Diary | The Final Week
After all the training and blogging, the time has finally come for Paul to take to the running ‘stage’ on Sunday and complete the Exeter Marathon. Here’s how the final week of prep has been going in Paul’s words…
It’s actually been a pretty easy week as all of the miles that are going to make any difference on Sunday have already been run so it’s more about taking it easy and carb-loading toward the end of the week!
The new Tozers’ running shirts have arrived so I’ll be making sure I’ve got all of my kit ready to go on the morning of the race as it will no doubt be a rush to get fuelled and out quickly, which means making sure I’m stocked up on bananas, energy chews and the obligatory Vaseline!
Fortunately I double checked the start time as I had assumed we’d all be setting off at 9am so realising I in fact needed to be ready to go at 8.45am was lucky as I’m expecting to be finishing far enough down the field as it is without giving everyone else a 15 minute head start!
