Jayne Bertie

“I take time to establish a personal relationship with my clients. Discussions about later life or care planning are often sensitive by nature. It is important therefore that the client feels listened to and that their concerns and wishes are addressed.”

Jayne is a Solicitor working in South Devon from our Newton Abbot office. She works with clients to plan for their future and ensure assets are protected by discussing options, drafting wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Jayne recognises that for many clients discussing the immediate or longer- term future can be sensitive. She takes time to put clients at ease and steer them through potential and suitable options. Experienced in supporting vulnerable clients Jayne can help with Lasting Powers of Attorney, Interest in Possession Trusts, Discretionary Trusts, Disabled Persons Trusts and Vulnerable Persons Trusts. She also provides reports on these matters when required.

Working flexibly to meet client requirements, Jayne also advises on Inheritance Tax, and has experience in administering taxable and non-taxable estates. She also gives Capital Gains Tax advice when required.

Working closely with Rachael Morley, Jayne supports the delivery of an accessible and high level of legal advice. Qualifying in 1994, Jayne is a full member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP).
