The staff at Tozers have once again been voting and the firm is pleased to announce that Sands Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Society has been chosen for their ‘Charity of the Year 2018’, in what will be the charity’s 40th anniversary.
In 1978, Sands was founded by a small group of bereaved parents who were not only devastated by their baby’s death but shocked by the total lack of support they received.
Every day in the UK, 15 babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth. Sands’ aim is to support anyone affected by the death of a baby. They also work with health professionals and improve bereavement care in hospitals and the community; and promote improvements in maternity care, funding research to save babies’ lives.
Sands operates across the UK and Tozers will be supporting not only the local Sands branches in Exeter and Totnes but also Sands nationally.
Endurance Arthur, partner and chair of the CSR committee at Tozers comments:
“We are delighted that Sands has been chosen as our Charity of the Year 2018. The staff at Tozers can’t wait to work alongside such a worthy charity. Work is already underway for our next Family Fun Day and there are lots of other fundraising ideas being discussed in the office. We look forward to working with Sands during their 40th anniversary year and hope 2018 is our best fundraising year to date.”
