Devon law firm, Tozers LLP is delighted to announce that during 2018 staff raised £10,000 for Sands – Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Charity.

The charity was founded in 1978 by a group of bereaved parents who were not only devastated by their baby’s death but shocked by the total lack of support they received.

Every day in the UK, 15 babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth. Sands’ aim is to support anyone affected by the death of a baby. They also work with health professionals and improve bereavement care in hospitals and the community; and promote improvements in maternity care, funding research to save babies’ lives.

Sands operates across the UK and Tozers has been supporting not only the local Sands branches in Exeter and Totnes but also Sands nationally.

Staff at Tozers chose Sands as their Charity of the Year 2018 and have raised money throughout the year via a number of different fundraising initiatives including; Tozers Family Fun Day 2018, Tough Mudder, cake bakes, quizzes, tuck shop sales and more.

Endurance Arthur, partner and chair of the CSR committee at Tozers comments: “Our staff responded to the challenge to help raise monies in some really imaginative ways and as such we have had a fantastic year working with Sands. We are all delighted that the money raised will support the running of Sands Exeter. It has been a pleasure working with Jo Anderson and all the team and we wish them all the best for 2019.”
