Tozers LLP Win LawNet Award for Best Community Contribution

Tozers LLP is delighted to have been awarded Best Community Contribution 2017/2018 by LawNet.

On Friday 10 November Paul Kelly, managing partner at Tozers LLP attended the LawNet Conference & Awards at Heythrop Park Resort, Oxfordshire along with Vernon Clarke, partner in the residential property team.

LawNet has been supporting independent law firms, committed to excellence for over 25 years and to date has over 70 members across the UK and Ireland.  The event, which is described as the “must attend event of the year”, draws together senior management and key business partners, and recognises distinction and achievements across the network.

The nationally recognised award for ‘Best Community Contribution’, considers firms that have implemented policies or executed projects that have positively impacted their community and generated results that have a long-term benefit for all parties.

The Tozers team very much embrace the charitable and social responsibility element of work and staff have regular involvement with a number of charities and social enterprises. Staff also vote on a charity of the year, and for 2017, MIND in Exeter and East Devon was chosen. Alongside book sales, cake bakes, quizzes and sporting events, 2017 saw the introduction of the very first Tozers Family Fun Day which helped forge links with local businesses and provided a day of entertainment for local families.

Paul Kelly, managing partner at Tozers LLP comments:

“Tozers’ positive attitude towards charity and social responsibility is echoed firm-wide as it is recognised that our CSR strategy supports the wider ethos of the firm; helping staff feel more involved with the local community, encouraging compassion and helpfulness as well as creativity and innovation.

Our objective is not only to raise money for charity but to give something back to the local community whilst providing staff with the opportunity to participate in a number of creative activities and social engagements.”

This latest award from LawNet becomes the second of its kind for Tozers. Last year the law firm won the Devon and Somerset Law Society’s Corporate and Social Responsibility award for charitable work and contributions within the community.

Tozers would like to thank LawNet and Heythrop Park Resort for a wonderful awards evening and dinner and also to congratulate our fellow legal winners and nominees!
