On 29th August, a launch event was held at Hotel du Vin for an exciting new project in Exeter – Tribe. A not for profit initiative ran by Air Marketing Group in conjunction with Exeter Live Better, Exeter City Council & Exeter Chamber of Commerce, the aim of the project is to drive economic growth within the city by lowering the amount of B2B trade that takes place outside of the local area.

Owen Richards, managing director of Air Marketing Group and behind the idea of Tribe, spoke at the launch about how the initiative could mean hundreds of more jobs for Exeter and the importance of raising awareness of the campaign. Ben Bradshaw, Exeter’s elected MP, talked about how keeping more business in the local area will also help the city continue to improve its sustainability, and how businesses in Exeter are resilient in challenging times. Finally Ann Hunter, business improvement district manager, concluded the speeches of the evening by encouraging businesses to collaborate well to achieve goals of keeping business in Exeter.

We are delighted to be partners for Tribe, as we strongly believe in supporting the local economy and we want Exeter to be promoted as a great place for businesses to invest. Along with the other 68 businesses who have currently made a pledge, we have confirmed that we will switch at least one of our suppliers from outside the local area to one within our local area within the next sixth months. You too can make a pledge by visiting: https://www.project-tribe.co.uk/.
