Wales – have you started your park rules consultation process?

On 1 October 2014 the Mobile Homes (Site Rules)(Wales) Regulations 2014 (“the Regulations”) came into force.

The Regulations require owners of residential parks in Wales to prepare a set of park rules which comply with specific criteria listed in the Regulations and to complete a statutory consultation process.

The consultation process consists of several stages each of which requires the park owner to serve specific documentation on the homeowner. In total the process will take around 3 months to complete.

With all current rules for Welsh residential parks ceasing to have effect from 1 October 2015 it is essential that park owners start their consultation process as soon as possible. Any delay could result in your park having a period without enforceable park rules.
