Will you be prepared for the enactment of the Consumer Rights Act 2015?

In recent blogs we have been updating you on the legislative progress of the Consumer Rights Bill (“the Bill”). In our last blog regarding this topic the Bill had received royal assent and was given a planned implementation date of 1 October 2015.

The provisions of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 will apply to all contracts involving the sale and supply of goods or services. This includes contracts for the sale of holiday homes, licence agreements and the sale of park homes. All park owners and their employees will need to be aware of the Act’s provisions so that they can effectively prepare for any changes ahead of the 1 October 2015 implementation date.

To aid business in their understanding of the Act’s provisions Trading Standards have issued four guides on the following topics:

  • The sale and supply of goods;
  • The supply of services;
  • Unfair contract terms; and
  • Digital content.
