Katie is a solicitor in Tozers’ Private Wealth team, where she specialises in supporting and protecting vulnerable individuals in the management of their property and financial affairs.

Her work includes attorneyship, deputyship and personal injury trust administration. She manages the day-to-day financial affairs of clients where Tozers Trust Corporation Limited is appointed as attorney, deputy or trustee.

Katie supports clients who retain capacity but would benefit from assistance in managing their affairs, and she steps in fully if capacity is lost. She also advises lay attorneys, helping them understand and fulfil their legal responsibilities.

Much of her deputyship work involves managing the affairs of individuals who have received substantial clinical negligence or personal injury settlements.

Katie’s role centres on safeguarding vulnerable clients with compassion, understanding and a friendly, approachable manner.

Katie studied Law at the University of Exeter before completing the LPC LLM in Professional Legal Practice. She began her legal career in London as a paralegal in a leading personal injury team, returning to Devon in 2021 to begin her training contract. She completed seats in residential property, family law and private client, qualifying as a solicitor in September 2023.

In her first year post-qualification, Katie focused on estate administration before joining Tozers’ Court of Protection team in October 2024, where she now works closely with vulnerable individuals and their families.

Katie understands that dealing with property and financial matters can feel daunting. Her aim is to reduce pressure on her clients, giving them the reassurance and space to focus on the more enjoyable aspects of life.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys running and singing. A former chorister, she continues to sing regularly at Exeter Cathedral.

  • “Dealing with your property and financial affairs can be overwhelming, even at the best of times. I aim to take away the pressure and worry so that you have more time to enjoy the less stressful aspects of life.”
