Court and Tribunal Fees Set to Increase This April

Given that the media is full of reports of the Government struggling to make efficiencies and to balance the books, it perhaps comes as no surprise to hear that court fees are set to increase.

As of April 2025, and pending parliamentary approval, the intention is to increase 171 court and tribunal fees by 3.2% on the current levels. It is indicated that these changes will be implemented to support the "efficient and effective running of His Majesty's Courts and Tribunals Service" and "go towards improving service delivery".

For a full list of the fees changes, please see here.

The headline at this stage is that, if you do have any intention of issuing a new claim or are perhaps looking to enforce an order, it may be worth doing so sooner rather than later in order to avoid paying more.
