Jack is a recently qualified Solicitor having successfully completed the Tozers Graduate Trainee Programme and has joined the Dispute Resolution team.
He advises on a broad range of commercial litigation matters, with a particular focus on Inheritance and Trusts disputes. His experience includes acting in claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, challenges to the validity of Wills, and disputes involving executors or trustees. Beyond estate litigation, Jack handles complex claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TLATA), sensitive Court of Protection (COP) disputes and a range of breach of contract claims.
Clients working with Jack can expect a high level of professionalism combined with a pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach. He understands that litigation is rarely a client’s first choice and is committed to resolving disputes in a commercially sensible manner, exploring alternative dispute resolution methods wherever possible.
Prior to starting his Training Contract, Jack worked as a Paralegal with Tozers’ Litigation & Employment team, where he assisted with contentious probate matters in particular. He also spent his first seat with Tozers’ Wealth Management team in Teignmouth, assisting with all aspects of estate administration and gaining practical experience in preparing Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs). This combination of contentious and non‑contentious experience gives Jack valuable insight into the legal principles underpinning estate planning and administration, enabling him to quickly identify potential areas of dispute and risk.
Jack holds an Upper Second‑Class Honours degree in Law from the University of Exeter, and recently completed his LPC LLM in Professional Legal Practice, achieving a Distinction.
During his time at university, Jack volunteered at the University of Exeter Access to Justice Clinic – a pro bono legal advice centre which provides legal support to the local community. He is also listed as part of the Pathways to Law Alumni, a charity dedicated to supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds in pursuing higher education and careers in law. Jack is passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion across the legal field and continues this work at Tozers through his involvement in the firm’s ED&I Network, which focuses on fostering a more inclusive and equitable environment for colleagues and clients alike. He is particularly proud to feature in the latest edition of the Social Mobility Commission’s State of the Nation report, which is published annually to assess progress in improving social mobility across the UK.
Outside of the office, Jack enjoys travelling, spending quality time with family and friends, and is a keen gym‑goer.
“My commitment goes beyond just providing legal support; I aim to empower clients with knowledge and understanding, enabling them to make informed decisions during challenging time."
