Bethany joined Tozers’ Family Care team in Newton Abbot in January 2022 as a Paralegal and has since become a valued member of the department. She supports the team on a wide range of matters relating to care proceedings and complex cases involving children, as well as managing her own caseload. Bethany is committed to building her career in this specialist area and is currently undertaking the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), having secured training to qualify as a solicitor.
She studied Law at the University of Nottingham, graduating with an LLB (Hons) degree, before beginning her career at a national firm dedicated exclusively to family law. There, she gained valuable experience in private children matters and cases arising from relationship breakdowns.
Bethany went on to further develop her knowledge and skills at a local firm in Devon, where she represented parents and grandparents throughout care proceedings. She now seeks to specialise in both Private and Public Law Children Act matters, bringing both compassion and determination to the families she assists.
Outside of work, Bethany enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.
“It can be a difficult and stressful time for families who find themselves in Court proceedings, as important decisions are being made about their future. I aim to bring an empathetic, pragmatic and outcome focused approach to all cases whilst ensuring that each client is supported during what can be considered a very challenging period of their lives.”
