Sophie has developed her career at Tozers through hard work and dedication, progressing from Legal Secretary to Solicitor. She joined the firm in March 2021 as a Legal Secretary in our Family team, was promoted to Paralegal in March 2022, and qualified as a Solicitor in October 2025.

Sophie advises on divorce and associated financial matters, as well as private Children Act proceedings. This includes applications for Child Arrangements Orders, Specific Issue Orders and Prohibited Steps Orders, always with a focus of achieving outcomes that are in the best interest of the child(ren).

In addition, Sophie advises on Family Law Act Injunctions, including applications for Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders. These application do require protection and security as a priority and Sophie therefore strives to provide timely and sensitive support.

Sophie is known for her pragmatic approach and strives to be approachable and supportive throughout the legal process. She is passionate about ensuring clients feel informed and takes time to explain complex legal issues concisely and in plain English, so clients can make confident and informed decisions about their future.

Sophie has previous experience of working in the Family team in the Plymouth Combined Court working alongside Judges of all levels. She is able to apply this knowledge and experience when assisting clients and explaining the Court process and applications required.

She graduated from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle being awarded a Masters in Law degree with First Class Honours.

Outside of work Sophie enjoys keeping fit by attending the gym regularly, going for sea swims and exploring Devon walking her Cairn Terrier, Otto.
