Stephen is the principle contact for property matters for Registered Providers and heads up Tozers’ nationally recognised Affordable Housing team.

His particular specialisms are in property-related matters including:

Qualifying in 1995, Stephen has spent his entire career in property development and acting for Registered Providers. He is ranked as a notable practitioner for Social Housing real estate in the Chambers UK 2019 legal directory, in which they recognise he “regularly advises registered providers on acquisitions and development projects, stock transfers and property financing work” pointing out that he “deals with complex and challenging matters exceptionally well.

Stephen has also been recognised as a leading individual in his field in the Legal 500 2019 edition.

Stephen is proud to work with a great team who collectively are also recognised for their expertise in both the Chambers UK 2019 legal directory and the Legal 500 2019 edition - he works closely with Catriona Yates, Deborah Black, Megan Lindsay-Bush, Sarah Brimilcombe, Rosemary Hill and Sue Pope on property matters and also with the housing management team Sarah Schooling, Jenny Lloyd, Vince Davies, Megan Andrews and Georgina Ogg.

Away from work, Stephen enjoys making the most of living in the West Country, in particular walking on Exmoor and the Quantocks and trying to keep fit.

Start on site date extended by 12 months by Homes England

Robert Jenrick Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government announced this week that the deadline by which start on site must occur in order for grant to be successfully claimed under the Shared Ownership and Affordable Homes Programme (SOAHP) is to be extended by 12 months from end of March 2022 to end of March 2023.
