The role

Tozers LLP is a leading firm of solicitors with offices in Exeter, Teignmouth and Newton Abbot offering an extensive legal service to businesses and individuals both locally and nationally.  We are recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK legal directories in a number of fields including our social housing practice.

Our busy family team in Newton Abbot now requires a secretary to work full time.  The work is fast paced and client focused.  This is a specialist Legal Aid team which represents children who are the subject of care proceedings, instructed by their Guardian, parents and grandparents.

 

About you

You will be very well organised and will enjoy organising others.  You will have a ‘can-do’ attitude and will be happy to adapt to the requirements of the tasks facing you.  Ideally you will be able to demonstrate your problem-solving skills and how you have used these in your previous positions and that you can respond to busy periods cheerfully and efficiently providing excellent audio typing and all-round secretarial support.

An ability to work closely with team members and a willingness to work as part of a team with the aim of achieving a common goal would be beneficial. 

You will have excellent IT skills and be familiar with using software for creating bundles of documents and ideally have used SOS.  It will be an advantage if you also have experience of care work and can offer assistance and support to a busy Children Panel Solicitor.

The role

About you

You will be confident in communicating with our clients and, under our lawyers’ direction, will be comfortable ensuring that clients have the information they need if our lawyers are engaged elsewhere. 

Your standard responsibilities will include opening, closing and archiving client files, using the firm’s IT systems and packages, liaising with clients and other parties on behalf of lawyers and dealing with emailed or telephone enquiries as appropriate.

You will also be responsible for document production, case management and assisting lawyers generally with administrative responsibilities. 

You will be literate and numerate, have excellent communication skills, be very well organised and will enjoy organising others as part of a team.  You will be able to work on own initiative, as well as under supervision, have a ‘can-do’ attitude and will be happy to adapt to the requirements of the tasks facing you.  Ideally you will be able to demonstrate your problem-solving skills and how you have used these in your previous positions. 

An ability to work closely with team members and a willingness to work as part of a team with the aim of achieving a common goal would be beneficial. 

Three A-levels or equivalent and a degree are preferred but not essential.   You may have had some previous legal work experience or be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in law, but extensive, hands-on training will be provided by CNI team members

Client Services Executive - Central

The role

Working with the Client Services Manager and our New Business Receptionists you will process new business enquiries generated from our website and enquiries email, utilising our ‘enquiry process’ to triage and signpost clients to the correct team.

You will also lead on following up enquiries with teams and clients, delivering a market leading enquiry and onboarding process to inspire repeat-business.  Managing the logging of enquiries and aiding the monthly reporting to our CSM will also be part of your role.

Support the CSM with the rollout of the new enquiries system.

You will lead both logistical planning and delivery of events working with the team to deliver first class events.

Support our CSM and Commercial Director with client development and new business initiatives including ‘target’ research, account planning preparation and administration and follow-up.

 

About you

You will be passionate about delivering excellent client service as well as an efficient administrator who can quickly identify where a client enquiry should be directed.  Your communication skills will be professional and reflect the values of our firm ensuring that every client has the best possible experience from their first point of contact with Tozers. 

Experience of how a professional services firm works and marketing will be an advantage.

Property Solicitor - Affordable Housing

The role

A property development solicitor, preferably with social housing experience within our nationally recognised registered providers team.  At Tozers we focus on establishing close working relationships with our housing clients.  We make every effort to provide a bespoke service to suit our registered provider clients’ particular requirements be they large or regional providers or small rural ones.

 

About you

Ideally you will be a 2 – 4 year qualified property solicitor or legal executive but your experience in development, preferably gained in the social housing sector, will be more important than number of years qualified  The role involves a mix of work with an emphasis on property development including site acquisition, development agreements, infrastructure agreements, conditional contracts and options.  There will also be one off general property enquiries and transactions to undertake for our clients.

Along with a commitment to deliver the highest standards of client care, you will also have enthusiasm for business development.

We are now seeking an experienced solicitor or FILEx to join our team in delivering this excellent service working in our Exeter office.
