Katie is a solicitor in Tozers’ Wealth Management team, where she specialises in supporting and protecting vulnerable individuals through the management of property and financial affairs.
She is responsible for the day-to-day administration of clients’ financial matters when the Tozers Trust Corporation Limited is appointed as attorney or deputy. Katie assists individuals who retain capacity but would benefit from some support in managing their affairs, and she steps in fully when they lose capacity. She also advises lay attorneys, helping them to understand and fulfil their legal responsibilities.
Katie’s role centres on safeguarding vulnerable clients with compassion, understanding and a friendly, approachable manner. Her work includes deputyship and attorneyship administration, as well as managing personal injury trusts.
Katie studied Law at the University of Exeter before completing the LPC LLM in Professional Legal Practice. She began her legal career in London, working as a paralegal in a leading personal injury team, and returned to Devon in 2021 to begin her training contract. She completed seats in residential property, family law and private client, and qualified as a solicitor in September 2023. In her first year post-qualification, she focused on estate administration, before joining Tozers’ Wealth Management team in October 2024 to work more closely with vulnerable individuals.
Katie understands that dealing with property and financial matters can be daunting. Her aim is to reduce the pressure on her clients so they can focus on the more enjoyable aspects of life.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys running and singing. A former chorister, she continues to sing regularly at Exeter Cathedral.
