As an independent local charity, Hospiscare has been supporting people in Devon living with life-limiting illnesses for over 40 years. The charity supports over 2,000 adults every year.
This March we signed up to the Hospiscare 40 Club for a third year. The 40 Club is a network of 40 local businesses that sign up and pledge to raise £1,000 over the course of the year. We’re pleased to announce that we’ve already raised £992 in under two months!
A Music Bingo Night to Remember
We kicked off our fundraising efforts with a Music Bingo night on 24 May 2025, where we jointly raised funds for Hospiscare and The Alice Cross Centre. We were thrilled to welcome back musician Alex Dobson whose live performance brought an unforgettable energy to the evening. His versatility and stage presence turned a simple game into a full-blown musical experience!
The event brought together colleagues and friends for an evening of fun and laughter. The event was a great success, setting the tone for a year of meaningful giving. We raised £367 for Hospiscare. A huge thank you to Alex for elevating the event and to The Alice Cross Centre for hosting us. We’re looking forward to working with them again in the future.
Walk This May
In May, our team laced their trainers for the 100 Miles in May Challenge. Whether walking, running or cycling, we collectively pushed ourselves to stay active and raise awareness for Hospiscare’s vital work. We raised an impressive £625.
The challenge was in memory of Julie Conway who sadly passed away from bile duct cancer in 2023. Her sister Sam writes,
“Living without my sister and best friend has been tough. Movement and exercise have been an integral part of maintaining my own mental health, as I process the grief of losing my sister so early in life. I wanted to find a way to honour Julie’s memory every year, and to help ensure Hospiscare could be there for other people and their families faced with terminal illness.”

Strike for a Cause
This month we’re swapping trainers for bowling shoes with our upcoming ‘Strike for a Cause’ event on 19 June at 6:30pm (Tenpin, Exeter). We’re excited to keep the fundraising momentum going and continue to support Hospiscare in every way we can.
Tickets are £15 (with £5 from each ticket going to Hospiscare) and include two rounds of bowling and a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). To purchase a ticket please email j.whittick@tozers.co.uk. Friends, family and professional contacts are welcome.
